kind of obama's fault. of course, the simpler explanation is not that obama planned all this. but the reason they have been taking moderate positions they have taken for years now, those just may be the positions. if the republican party can't agree to them or come up with popular ideas of their own, the problem may be within the republican party, not at 1600 pennsylvania avenue. barack obama is the president of the united states. he is a very powerful man, responsible for many things. but he is not why most republicans have taken a pledge, saying they will never raise a dollar in taxes no matter what the budget deficit looks like. he is not why they decided to put the whole u.s. economy at risk if they don't get their way on spending cuts. he is not why the white house partnered with gun legislation, no matter how small, is tantamount to taking away guns, he is not why extreme movements like extreme ideas like going back to a gold standard in the middle of an economic crisis have taken root on the right. this country needs and deserves a better republican party. and there are a lot o

, with the obama administration and we have another four years to go now . what we have done, successfully in some cases and not in others to fight back is to take them to court. when the environmental protection agency over steps its legal boundaries we sue them and we recently won a case of the epa that is employment prevention agency because they are so good at that. they are very good at that and our co-plaintiff was a democratic board of supervisor, biggest county of virginia where i grew up. we saved the taxpayer in fairfax county $250 million and our state department of transportation another 70 million. it was enormous win and it was an experiment by the epa, where we said and fairfax county said they are breaking the law. they said it is another way of doing what we are doing for 40 years and the court agreed with us. one of the great things about winning the federalism wins. when virginia winnings, everybody wins and now the other cases like this are all in missouri, and my first phone call to my colleague. democratic attorney general chris coster and said happy new

robert didn't like at all. june 25 last year the obama care decision the central achievement of his presidency august 5-4 decision where chief justice roberts shocked everyone, myself very much included, voting to uphold the law, that makes up for everything else h that decision got other wake the obama presidency would look very different. >> david, anthony kennedy would have done that wouldn't have been that shocked but for the chief justice you john roberts, to do it, it says a lot about where he is coming from. >> it does. and there's a lot -- there are a lot of indications that at the end of the day john roberts placed the reputation of the court above all other considerations, because if he had gone against obama care, down 5-4, five conservatives voting it down there was a real fear the court would seem poll lit side, the indications are that he went the other way. what's striking to me there were actually two republicans who really helped president obama get re-elected. one was john roberts that decision was very important. the other was ben bernanke at the federal reserve.
